14 month update
Simona is all grown up now! She started walking last week, and by that we mean more than a few steps at a time. She can walk across the room, carry her toys with her, and her pivots would make any catwalk supermodel green with envy. She is thrilled with her new freedom, and when she falls she just rolls around relishing in her accoomplishments. A few days before she turned 14 months, Simona quit breastfeeding. She's been drinking cow's milk for a couple of month's now, and I guess she decided she has better things to do than sit around nursing! She's slowly getting back to eating a wide variety of foods (no meat!). For awhile it was only cereal, mac & cheese, bananas, pears, and pizzelles (notice the color scheme, or lack of one). She has 8 teeth, and we can see more on the way. Simona talks up a storm but we can still only understand "mama", "cat", and "no". She clearly understands a lot of what we say - "nonna nonna" (bedtime), and some food words - she'll say "no" if she doesn't want it and start kicking like mad if she thinks it's a good idea. She loves playing with blocks, her nesting dolls, hitting the coffee table with anything at hand, and reading her board books. She is very good at pretending to talk on the phone, and she LOVES cats (especially Dylan's cat Paul)...but we still aren't getting one.
